The nine fields
Sprint Truth adds nine read-only fields to every work item that has been in a sprint. Use them in search, filters, list-view columns, dashboards and CSV export, like any other field.
| Field | Type | What it means | Example search |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sprint start | Date | Start date of the work item's current (or last) sprint | "Sprint start" >= 2026-07-01 |
| Sprint end | Date | Planned end of that sprint | "Sprint end" <= endOfMonth() |
| First sprint start | Date | When the first sprint it was in started | ORDER BY "First sprint start" |
| Sprints | Text list | Every sprint it was ever in, including ones it was removed from | Sprints = "Sprint 42" |
| Added after start | Text list | Sprints it joined after they started | "Added after start" = "Sprint 42" |
| Removed from | Text list | Sprints it left before they closed | "Removed from" is not EMPTY |
| Times carried over | Number | How many times it rolled into the next sprint unfinished | "Times carried over" >= 3 |
| Times removed | Number | How many times it was pulled out of a started sprint | "Times removed" > 0 |
| Sprint count | Number | How many sprints it has been in | ORDER BY "Sprint count" DESC |
Good to know
- Only Sprint Truth writes them. Nobody can edit them by hand. They don't add entries to a work item's History tab.
- Sprint names that repeat. If two boards both have a "Sprint 42", the fields say "Sprint 42 (Payments)" and "Sprint 42 (Checkout)", so each one is clear.
- Dates use the time zone set on the admin page (UTC by default).
- Removed and added back. A work item that was committed, pulled out and put back counts as committed, not as "added after start".
- Carried over means it was unfinished when the sprint closed and moved straight into a later sprint.
- Team-managed projects: add the fields to each project's field list first (Getting started, step 4).
